Description

Black gunpowder black tea – “Black Pearl” 80g:

This rare Chinese tea from Fujian, China, is called black gunpowder because it is reminiscent of the 19. century gunpowder used by British royal warships of the 19th century. This is practically a black tea or red tea (to be precise). In his native China, he is called the “Black Pearl” and traditionally hand-rolls the black globes with a shiny surface. It is moderately dark and mild. It is well-liked for its full-bodied taste and smoky aroma – highly recommended for brunch or after-lunch invigorating tea.

Category: Black tea / red tea – Hong cha
Origin: Fujian, China
Tasting notes: Slight, slightly smoky
Preparation advice: Use almost boiling water and soak for a maximum of 2 minutes. Practical suggestion; if the water has already boiled, prepare the tea and the tea tools. This takes about exactly the amount of time it takes for the water to cool down ideally for Black Gunpowder. (If you want to rough it up, use water above 90 ° C and soak for 3 minutes – but we think this will kill the real experience of tea.)

The Kitsimono workshop suggests:

Use water at 70 to 80 ° C and soak the tea for one minute. This way, it remains completely full-bodied for a while and retains its slightly smoky character.
