The theme of the hand-printed graphics is a trout attacking an artificial flies floating on the surface of the water from under the water and looking at a skillful hook-tie mayfly creature. The figure of the fly imitating the beast is the same graphic print as the print of the attacking trout. The topic of fly fishing is no coincidence – based on the analogues between Japanese fly fishing and European fly fishing, the so-called “fly fishing” of today. It is based on the parallels between catch and release sports. The artistic and contemporary artistic value of graphic art lies in the reinterpretation of the compositional principle and the articulation of the two-dimensional space provided by paper – and in the nature of the technique chosen.
