Description

Hojicha Kagoshima 60g – kagoshima Japanese green tea:

Traditional Japanese green tea typically made from sencha or bancha tea at the place of production. At the end of the brewing process, the tea is finished with a slight gentle roasting, creating a special world of taste and aroma, which also has its own fan camps around the world among tea lovers. Hojicha teas are considered long-lasting teas. Its aftertaste is said to be floral (some liken it to mango) and its aroma is likened to the aroma of Gyokuro tea in most places. At the same time, it is somewhat reminiscent of typical Chinese oolong teas (wulong teas) with the difference that it has a lower caffeine content (tein) so we can consume a little more of this flavor-loving tea during the day. This is explained by the fact that for this tea, the raw material is a premium category bancha. Although many people like Gyokuro as mentioned above, we think it tastes more like a loose Genmaicha tea. It’s hard to get bored and you can expect to make four excellent decoctions out of it at any time.

Its preparation is the same as traditional Chinese and Japanese green teas. The general recommended soaking time is 3 minutes, but we from the Kitsimono workshop (although it’s a matter of taste) prefer a maximum soaking time of 2 minutes.
