The gaiwan:
Lotus pattern Chinese porcelain with plate. Like most gaiwan, this piece is a sophisticated tool in traditional Chinese and Taiwanese tea making. Its tastefully thin porcelain wall and restrained pattern promote comfortable tea making. A monk praying with Chinese writing and a lotus flower pattern can be seen on the wall and lid of the teapot. With a volume of 130 ml and a pleasant ratio, the porcelain is perfect for one or two person comfortable tea parties. Of course, it is best suited for Chinese and Taiwanese teas, but we can even make Japanese teas with it or any fibrous tea we like.
