Description

Sikishi with graphic print 04.:

Also called a tanzaku, a shikishi made with a graphic print (from a medial matrix) with a silvered edge. This work is a modern representative of graphics that can be inserted into tanzaku or kakejiku (Japanese wallscroll image). The media stub made of photo graphics, from which the shikishi was printed, was destroyed after printing. Only one copy has been made that we offer for sale with this product. The graphics depict a detail of a flowering Chojubai Japanese shohin bonsai tree – in which the flowers have been highlighted with a retouch-like painting. The graphics were made of cardboard laminated rice paper, the edges of which were highlighted with silver plating. The shikishi is an illustration of a chapter in a story composed of our short short story-like writings. The title of the story is “Pine-needle from Saitama”, details of which can be read in Hungarian here.

The shikishi’s size: 12 cm x 13,5 cm
